Based on data from the Census 2000 Supplementary Survey, nationwide there are 5.6 million Grandchildren living with their grandparents. Forty-two percent, or 2.35 Million grandparents are the primary caregivers for their grandchildren. In Tarrant Count, there are over 18,000 children in kinship care
